Open Forest Protocol Partners with Gaia Gives to Enable Forest Projects to Access Open MRV
Global collaboration is inherent to the success of a positive trajectory in emissions reduction. To allow for the growth and flourishment of Nature Based Solutions, multi system implementation is key to sharing solutions, and connecting us back to the natural world.
Today, Open Forest Protocol (OFP) is excited to announce an official partnership with Gaia Gives — OFP is introducing the multitude of forest projects within the Gaia network to a scalable and accessible Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) standard. With this collaboration, local forest projects will not only receive a free and open method of MRV, but because the MRV is decentralized, they will have direct ownership over the proceeds derived from their forestation efforts. By opening up avenues of access to MRV, we create a regenerative cycle that lends itself to further forest preservation. This renewed MRV standard allows us to openly prove and verify the inherent value of trees as natural solutions to climate change, opening doors for forest project funding and support.
