OFP Brings ReFi to ETH Denver

Towards the end of February, members of the Open Forest Protocol Team attended ETH Denver, one of the largest and most influential crypto conferences in the world. Throughout our week in the mile high city, we successfully networked, presented OFP, and made lasting connections with a diverse array of industry experts. From hosting a ReFi hangout in person, to presenting live about regenerative finance and our positioning as a leader in the space to wrapping it all up with a Twitter space, ETH Denver was a huge success!
Hosting IRL Refi Event
The OFP Team co-hosted a casual hangout in a local brewery with dClimate, taking the opportunity to meet ReFi friends in real life, including Toucan, Flow Carbon, Solid World DAO, Athena Equity, and Avano. With food, an open bar and face to face interactions, the event attracted over 65 attendees and provided a fantastic opportunity to fortify our community.
OFP on stage
Jeremy, Head of Fundraising at OFP, presented live on the Wave Stage about regenerative finance (ReFi), what is happening in the space, and how OFP is positioned to deliver value to the niche. Entitled “Solving the Climate Change Crisis with Web 3”, the presentation highlighted the necessity of ReFi amidst current climate change solutions that often lack the incentive structure needed for global problem solving. By presenting ReFi as a sustainable, long term solution in front of the ETH Denver demographic, we aimed to demonstrate how OFP encompasses ReFi principles, including currency as a medium for mass cooperation. Jeremy concluded by showcasing OFP’s ReFi structure of promoting global participation of forestation projects, removing intermediaries, and sharing returns with project operators.

Special OFP Twitter Space: Denver Edition
After the event, the OFP team did a special Twitter Space, where members recapped Jeremy’s talk and other happenings from the ReFi hangout. The team also answered some of the most frequently asked questions from the audience including, “Where does the demand for carbon come from?” Keep an eye out for more spaces happening soon on our social media.
Conclusion
Throughout our time at ETH Denver, OFP was able to hear directly from other like minded individuals within Web3 and the wider ReFi space. We connected with fellow ReFi projects to add value and collaborate in addressing climate change, the biggest crisis of our generation. The conference fueled us into Q1 and our march to mainnet! Follow us on social media to keep up to date and tune into the community. See you next year, ETH Denver!
